Limb Slings
Limbs have to be raised, repositioned, and held still — for dressing changes, wound inspection, surgical recovery, and simply getting back into bed. The default tool for that job is still a caregiver’s hands.
An adult’s lower limb accounts for roughly 16% of total body weight1 — about 32 lb on a 200 lb patient — held away from the body, often with the trunk flexed, for as long as the task takes. An arm weighs less, but the hold is just as long. NIOSH’s recommended maximum for manual patient handling is 35 lb under ideal conditions2, and holding a limb steady through a dressing change does not meet that definition.

Guided Movement
Limb Lifter
The Limb Lifter uses two fabric pads. One supports the foot, the other is supported by the patient’s arm, so they can raise and lower their own leg without a caregiver lifting it for them. The ladder rungs also let a caregiver attach it to a lift when a limb needs more control than hands alone provide.

Sustained Elevation
Limb Sling
The Limb Sling cradles an arm or leg in contoured fabric that hangs from a compatible lift, holding the limb at a steady angle for the length of the procedure. Because the sling doesn’t tire, the limb stays exactly where the treatment needs it, however long that takes.

Recovery & Repositioning
Limb Lifter
Whether the goal is active, progressive mobility or passive support for an extremity, the MedCo Technology Limb Lifter does the work a caregiver’s arms would otherwise do. Skin-gentle fabric and a two-pad design let patients raise and lower their own legs, returning to bed on the unit or managing knee and hip surgery recovery at home. The ladder rungs serve as attachment points for a hook and loop compatible overhead or portable floor lift, giving caregivers controlled elevation when fragile skin or a complex dressing change call for more than hands alone.

Dedicated Limb Support
Limb Sling
Supporting a patient’s arm or leg for an inspection, a treatment, or a dressing change has traditionally meant a caregiver holding it up for the length of the treatment, with one hand committed to the hold and the other doing the work.
MedCo Technology Limb Slings attach to hook and loop compatible overhead and portable floor lifts and take that load off the caregiver entirely. The limb stays elevated and stable, both hands stay free for the procedure, and the patient isn’t repositioned every time a grip tires.
Contouring fabric adjusts to the body shapes and angles treatment requires, distributing support across the limb rather than concentrating it at a caregiver’s grip points, without excess pressure or shearing.
Limb Slings work on arms and legs alike, and are available in two sizes to support virtually any limb.
